Senior Yoga Teacher, Michelle Wade

Since 2004 I have been a practicing healing artist. I combine experiential yoga practice and deep study, natural knowledge of body movement, breath work, and meditation in order to help myself and others heal and maintain their well-being. I utilize my evolving skills as a counselor in training, my natural gifts towards healing, and exploring the quest for Enlightenment in my work with students both in group and individual settings.

I have developed through a focused spiritual path skills to help clients discover their authentic selves, establish and maintain self-care regiments, and stay focused on good health and equilibrium. I believe balance and equilibrium are the keys to a happy and fulfilled life.

Maintaining balance is not easy and it requires mindfulness.  Your Yoga practice acts as an anchor in creating this balance within the body, in your external world, and for a life of self study.

I like to do the deep work with people.

I am currently in graduate school to get my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of the Southwest. I enrolled in this program so that I can focus more on this individual work, workshops, yoga mentorship, and coaching. This will allow me more credibility to work with clients on deeper psychological and emotional levels, and I can eventually practice Equine Assisted Therapy. Horses are great healers!  I have a new dream now.  I would like to integrate my natural spiritual abilities with yoga, animal assisted therapy, and psychotherapy to help people heal.

I opened a yoga studio when I was 24 years old with nothing but a huge heart and a dedicated practice. I did not have much money and only a year and a half experience teaching yoga. It was magical! It was the greatest achievement of my life. In this creation I brought forth and discovered a deep expression of who I was in my Soul. This expression was beyond my body.  I discovered my Grandmother energy. Energy that is deep in my veins, the natural healer and nurturer came forward.  My space was simple, homey, and decorated with spiritual images of all traditions and religions. It was warm, open, and felt like you were coming to visit someone at their home. I did not run it like a business.  It was who I was and I was sharing it with others.  I created a space that was accepting of people no matter where they were at and embraced them in warmth and an understanding of the human experience. We all have pain that needs medicine. It was my intention to provide this, to love others, and bring people together in community. I achieved this goal! The physical space I created lasted 14 years!  Time has its own desire though… things change… This space will always exist in my heart and the hearts of those I touched. It will always be remembered.  People still tell me often how much they miss the space, that there is no place like it since…
